SonicWall Reframes Annual Research Around SMB Protection Outcomes, Reveals the Seven Deadly Sins in 2026 Cyber Protect Report

New Report Finds Serious, Actionable Attacks Rose More Than 20% as SMBs Face Growing Threat from Increasingly Precise, AI-Enabled Adversaries

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 2 April 2026 – SonicWall today announced the release of the 2026 SonicWall Cyber Protect Report, marking a landmark reframing from traditional threat reporting in favor of the protection outcomes that matter most to business leaders. At the heart of the report is a sobering finding: most SMBs aren’t failing because of sophisticated attacks. They’re failing because of seven predictable, preventable gaps that SonicWall has named the Seven Deadly Sins of Cybersecurity.

The 2026 report continues to draw on data from SonicWall’s global network of more than one million security sensors to reveal a threat landscape that is growing more precise and more relentless. Some key statistical findings include:

  • High and medium severity attacks surged 20.8% to 13.15 billion hits. Attackers aren’t striking more often, they’re striking smarter.
  • Automated bots now generate more than 36,000 vulnerability scans per second, accounting for more than half of all internet traffic. Bad bot traffic alone has surged to 37% of all global internet traffic.
  • IoT attacks climbed 11% to 609.9 million hits; Log4j alone generated 824.9 million IPS hits in 2025, four years after disclosure.
  • Identity, cloud, and credential compromise account for 85% of actionable security alerts. The stolen password, not the zero-day, is the attacker’s weapon of choice.
  • SMBs bear a disproportionate ransomware burden: 88% of their breaches involved ransomware in 2025, more than double the rate seen at large enterprises.

“SonicWall data reveals attacks are getting faster, and in some instances, they’re getting a little more sophisticated,” said Michael Crean, SVP and GM of Managed Security Services at SonicWall. “But the vast majority of the attacks that we’re seeing and investigating are basic fundamentals that continue to be missed. The danger isn’t that AI isn’t working; it’s that we’re using it as an excuse not to do the things we already know we should.”

The 2026 SonicWall Cyber Protect Report is the first in the company’s history to be built around protection outcomes rather than threat statistics alone. In preparing this year’s research, SonicWall identified seven recurring patterns, dubbed the Seven Deadly Sins that consistently define the difference between resilience and exposure across SMB breach investigations, security assessments, and incident reviews.

The Seven Deadly Sins of Cybersecurity

Rather than attributing breach risk to exotic or emerging attack methods, the 2026 Protect Report identifies seven operational failures that appear repeatedly across investigations and that remain largely preventable. The Seven Deadly Sins are:

  1. Ignoring the Fundamentals — Weak authentication, unpatched systems, and excessive admin privileges remain the primary attack surface.
  2. False Confidence — Believing you’re too small to be targeted, overestimating control effectiveness, and assuming resilience without testing it create dangerous blind spots.
  3. Overexposed Access — Overly permissive rules, flat networks, and implicit trust after authentication give attackers an unobstructed path once inside.
  4. Reactive Security Posture — Without 24/7 monitoring and proactive threat hunting, attackers set the timeline. The average breach goes undetected for 181 days.
  5. Cost-Driven Security Decisions — Deferring investment based on short-term budget pressure creates costs that arrive later — with interest. A single SMB breach can exceed $4.91 million when downtime and recovery are included.
  6. Reliance on Legacy Access Models — VPNs that authenticate once and grant broad network access remain one of the most exploited entry points in enterprise security. VPN CVEs grew 82.5% over the analyzed period.
  7. Chasing Hype Over Execution — Buying the latest tools without deploying them completely, and expecting technology to compensate for process gaps, is its own form of vulnerability. Tools don’t create outcomes — execution does.

“The organizations that suffer the most are not failing because of sophisticated attacks, they’re failing because of predictable, preventable gaps,” Crean continued. “SMBs are the backbone of the U.S. economy, representing 99% of all U.S. businesses and nearly half of private sector employment. Protecting them protects entire communities. That’s why this report is designed around protection outcomes, not just threat statistics.”

Commenting on the findings, Debasish Mukherjee, Vice President of Sales, APJ at SonicWall said, “This year’s report reflects what we are consistently seeing across APJ, SMBs continue to be impacted by gaps in fundamental security practices that are both predictable and preventable. By reframing our research around protection outcomes, SonicWall aims to help organizations move beyond threat awareness to action, focusing on the areas that directly reduce risk. As attackers become more precise and increasingly AI-enabled, closing these gaps will be critical for SMBs across the region to strengthen resilience and make more informed decisions.”

In keeping with SonicWall’s partner-first mission, the 2026 Cyber Protect Report is designed to equip MSPs and MSSPs with the data and language needed for strategic conversations with SMB decision-makers, translating technical threat intelligence into business risk that leaders can act on.

The SonicWall 2026 Cyber Protect Report makes one thing clear: the gap between protected and exposed rarely comes down to technology. It comes down to execution. For the SMBs and the MSPs and MSSPs who protect them, this report is designed to close that gap with data, clarity, and a road map for what to do next.

SANYA, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 1 April 2026 – On March 30, the torch relay of the 6th Asian Beach Games took place in Sanya, China. A total of 74 torchbearers ran a roughly 10.5-kilometer relay along Sanya Bay, igniting enthusiasm as they passed golden beaches, city streets, and the sea.

Torch Relay for 6th Asian Beach Games Held in Sanya, China

With the theme “Passing Friendship, Meeting in Sanya, the relay route creatively integrates three settings: beach, road and sea. This design fully showcased Sanya’s unique coastal scenery and highlighted the distinctive charm of an island-based sports event.

Chang Yani, champion of the women’s synchronized 3m springboard at the Paris Olympic Games, was the first torchbearer. “Facing the vast ocean and running with the torch on the beach—this feeling is really special,” Chang said. Liu Shiwen, gold medalist in the women’s table tennis team at the Tokyo Olympic Games, completed about 2.5 kilometers of the relay by boat, gliding over the waves and showcasing the beauty of Sanya from the sea.

Along the route, four themed cultural performances energized the relay. Dynamic water sports demonstrations included jet ski stunts, flyboarding, freestyle kayaking, and wake surfing. Hainan’s local culture was presented through Li brocade fashion shows, bamboo pole dances, Qiong opera, and Yazhou folk songs. A performance combining robotic lion dances and drumming further showcased the innovative vitality of the Asian Beach Games.

Organizations Overlook AI Risk as Governance Fails to Keep Up

TrendAI research reveals pressure to deploy AI for business speed is outpacing control, visibility and accountability

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 2 April 2026 – TrendAI , the enterprise AI security leader from Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), has published new research revealing that organizations worldwide are pushing ahead with AI deployment despite known security and compliance risks.

To read the full report visit: https://www.trendmicro.com/explore/trendai-global-ai-study/

The new global study of 3,700 business and IT decision makers found that 67% have felt pressured to approve AI despite security concerns, with one in seven describing those concerns as “extreme” but overridden to keep pace with competitors and internal demand.

Rachel Jin, Chief Platform & Business Officer, Head of TrendAI : “Organizations are not lacking awareness of risk, they’re lacking the conditions to manage it. When deployment is driven by competitive pressure rather than governance maturity, you create a situation where AI is embedded into critical systems without the controls needed to manage it safely. This research reenforces our focus on helping organizations drive solid business outcomes with AI while still managing business risk.”

The risk of pressure-driven AI rollout is exacerbated by governance inconsistencies and unclear responsibility for AI risk that are becoming widespread. The same is true for security teams working on a reactive basis to top-down AI rollout decisions, which often leads to workarounds and increased use of unsanctioned or “shadow” AI tools.

Recent TrendAI threat research reinforces this shift, showing how attackers are already using AI to automate reconnaissance, accelerate phishing campaigns and lower the barrier to entry for cybercrime, increasing both the speed and scale of attacks.

AI adoption is outpacing control

Organizations are deploying AI faster than they can manage the associated risks, creating a widening gap between ambition and oversight. 57% say AI is advancing more quickly than they can secure it, while more than half (64%) report only moderate confidence in their understanding of the legal frameworks governing AI.

Governance maturity remains low. Only around a third (38%) of organizations have comprehensive AI policies in place, with many still drafting them, and 41% cite unclear regulation or compliance standards as a barrier. In practice, AI is being operationalized before the rules governing its use are fully established.

Trust in autonomous AI remains uncertain

Confidence in more advanced, autonomous systems is still in the maturing phase. Less than half (48%) believe agentic AI will significantly improve cyber defense in the short term, with ongoing concerns around data access, misuse and lack of oversight.

The data shows where those concerns are landing. More than four in ten organizations (44%) say AI agents accessing sensitive data is their biggest risk. Over a third (36%) warn malicious prompts could compromise security, while one in three (33%) point to a growing attack surface for cyber criminals. A similar proportion (33%) fear abuse of trusted AI status and risks linked to autonomous code deployment.

At the same time, nearly a third (31%) admit they lack observability or auditability over these systems, raising serious questions about how organizations can control or intervene once agents are deployed.

Around 40% of organizations support the introduction of AI “kill switch” mechanisms to shut down systems in the event of failure or misuse, while nearly half remain unsure. This lack of consensus highlights a deeper issue. Organizations are moving towards autonomous AI without agreement on how to retain control when it matters most.

“Agentic AI is moving organizations into a new risk category,” added Rachel Jin. “Our research shows the concerns are already clear, from sensitive data exposure to loss of oversight. Without visibility and control, organizations are deploying systems they don’t fully understand or govern, and that risk is only going to increase unless action is taken.”

Southeast Asian Pet Food Leader MR.VET Clinches Prestigious U.S. Orange Dot Award for Biotech Innovation

Source: Media Outreach

ORLANDO, UNITED STATES – Media OutReach Newswire – 2 April 2026 – As the global pet industry gathers for the Global Pet Expo in Orlando—the largest pet trade show in North America—a new power from Southeast Asia has taken center stage. MR.VET, the rising star of the Asian pet food market, has officially been honored with the 2026 Orange Dot Award (USA) in the Biotech Category, marking a historic milestone for regional brands on the world stage.

The Orange Dot Award is a benchmark of excellence in the pet industry, established by a panel of elite American experts, including the former president of the American Pet Products Association (APPA). It recognizes products that push the boundaries of safety, innovation, and nutritional science. This year, the spotlight shines on MR.VET’s commitment to “Precision Healthcare.”

A Biotech Breakthrough: The T-Series Revolution

The award-winning entry, MR.VET’s T-Series, represents a paradigm shift in how pet owners approach feline health. Unlike conventional dry kibble, the T-Series—comprising T1 (Intestinal Care), T2 (Skin and Coat Care), T3 (Urinary Health), and T4 (Indoor Cat)—is built on a foundation of advanced biotechnology.

At the heart of this innovation is MR.VET’s Specialized Freeze-Drying Technology. While traditional high-heat processing often destroys delicate bioactive compounds, MR.VET utilizes low-temperature dehydration. This “Bioactive Retention” process locks in original nutrition, ensuring that proteins, fatty acids, and essential micronutrients remain intact for efficient absorption. By combining this technology with customized nutritional profiles, MR.VET offers a tailored solution to the most common health “pain points” faced by modern pet owners.

Certified Market Dominance: The Number One Choice

MR.VET’s scientific accolades are backed by staggering commercial success. According to a recent market position statement by the world-renowned consulting firm Frost & Sullivan, MR.VET has been officially certified as the “Ranked No. 1 in Southeast Asia by Sales Volume of Dry Cat Food in 2025.”

Frost & Sullivan, a global leader in market research for over 60 years, conducted an exhaustive analysis of the Southeast Asian landscape, confirming MR.VET’s status as the undisputed market leader. Over the past year, the brand has witnessed an explosive growth trajectory across both digital and physical storefronts:

  1. Indonesia: Ranked #1 on both TikTok and Shopee.
  2. Vietnam: Ranked #1 on TikTok and #3 on Shopee.
  3. Thailand: Recognized as a Top 10 TikTok Trending Brand.
  4. Regional Reach: Rapidly becoming the preferred choice for consumers in Malaysia and the Philippines.

Double Victory: Bite of Wild Sweeps Nutrition Category

The Orange Dot Award ceremony also celebrated a second victory for the group, as sister brand Bite of Wild secured the award in the Nutrition Category for its 42 Series.

The inspiration for Bite of Wild began with a personal mission by co-founder Steve Bui. As a devoted pet owner, Steve sought to create a diet that truly honored the “obligate carnivore” nature of his own pets. Dissatisfied with conventional options, he set out to develop a high-meat, biologically appropriate formula, which eventually evolved into the award-winning 42 Series.

Designed to replicate the “Ancestral Blueprint” of wild felines, the Bite of Wild 42 Series (including the P42 High Meats, F42 6-Fish recipes, and K42 Kitten Formula) is engineered for the “Tiger Physique.” The series boasts industry-leading specifications:

  1. 92% Animal Raw Materials: Providing pure biological fuel.
  2. 42% High Crude Protein: The gold standard for lean muscle and vitality.
  3. 0% Grain & Pork: Eliminating common allergens to ensure peak digestive health.

Bite of Wild caters to the “obligate carnivore” nature of cats, proving that high-performance nutrition can be both scientifically precise and naturally sourced.

A New Era for the Pan-Asian Pet Market

The success of MR.VET and Bite of Wild at the Global Pet Expo signals a broader revolution within the Asian pet market—a transition from “basic feeding” to “scientific nurturing.”

“Winning two Orange Dot Awards in Biotech and Nutrition is a powerful validation of our commitment to elevating pet health standards across the Asian market,” said Steve Bui, co-founder of the brands, during the Orlando ceremony. “It proves that by merging global scientific breakthroughs with deep regional insights, we can lead the world in both market scale and technological sophistication.”

As MR.VET continues to expand its footprint across the Pan-Asian region and beyond, its mission remains clear: to provide pets with “the right care made easy”—backed by science and proven by millions of satisfied owners. The revolution in pet health has arrived, led by the “Tiger Physique” of Bite of Wild and the biotech-driven precision of MR.VET.

New Certified Humane® Farm in Vietnam Strengthens Reliable Cage-Free Egg Supply for Food and Hospitality Businesses

Source: Media Outreach

Global Food Partners and Certified Humane® celebrated this milestone at a Cage-Free Meet in Vietnam, as companies accelerate cage-free sourcing and compliance

HUNG YEN, VIETNAM – Media OutReach Newswire – 2 April 2026 – Global Food Partners (GFP) and Certified Humane® this week celebrated a major milestone for Vietnam’s egg industry: the certification of the Nguyen Gia Livestock Production Cooperative, owned by Mr. Tue, under the Certified Humane® program—one of the world’s leading standards for farm animal welfare.

The certification is the result of a multi-year partnership launched between GFP and the Cooperative in 2024 to transition the Cooperative’s entire 50,000-hen flock to a 100% cage-free system—one of the largest transitions to cage free in Vietnam and across Asia. GFP provided technical support throughout the transition, including barn retrofitting, implementation of animal welfare best practices, and preparation of the farm to meet Certified Humane® standards.

“Our partnership and this certification are powerful examples of how producers in Vietnam can successfully transition to cage-free systems, expand market access, and meet the growing demand from food and hospitality businesses,” said Jayasimha Nuggehalli, Chief Program Officer and Co-founder of Global Food Partners. “As companies accelerate progress toward their cage-free commitments and reporting, having reliable, locally produced supply is more important than ever.”

Mr. Tue, leader of Nguyen Gia Livestock Production Cooperative, added: “Transitioning to cage-free production and achieving Certified Humane® certification has opened new opportunities for our cooperative. With support from Global Food Partners, we’ve improved animal welfare while strengthening our business and accessing new markets. The ability to sell cage-free credits has also helped us grow sustainably, enabling us to expand our cage-free operations and implement best practices on our farm.”

The certification comes at a critical time, as food and hospitality companies across Vietnam and Asia—including Marriott International, Accor, Hilton, Mondelez International, and Compass Group—scale up cage-free sourcing to meet their commitments.

The milestone was celebrated at a Cage-Free Meet co-hosted by GFP and the Nguyen Gia Livestock Production Cooperative in Hung Yen Province, Hanoi, where Cooperative members and local producers gathered to explore the business case for cage-free production and practical steps to begin the transition. The event was also attended by Tuan Manh Breeding Company, a leading egg distributor in North Vietnam, underscoring growing market engagement in building a credible cage-free supply chain.

Zarco and Moreira Score Early Points at the Thai Grand Prix

The 2026 MotoGP season officially began on 1 March with a demanding race at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.

Riders battled intense heat and tyre degradation in a gruelling opening round that tested both experience and endurance. While Marco Bezzecchi secured a commanding victory, attention also turned to the LCR Honda duo of Zarco and Moreira.

Johann Zarco delivered a composed ride in challenging conditions, finishing 11th and securing five valuable championship points for the team. Meanwhile, Diogo Moreira achieved a personal milestone by finishing 13th, earning his first MotoGP points in his debut full-length Grand Prix appearance.

Rookie Progress and Team Dynamics Shine Bright

Moreira’s performance highlighted his rapid development in the premier class. The 21-year-old Brazilian rookie, who stepped up from Moto2 for the 2026 season, credited Zarco’s experience and race craft as a key influence on his progress.

Throughout the race, Moreira stayed close to his veteran teammate, using the opportunity to learn race management and pace strategy at the highest level of motorcycle racing.

For Zarco, simply finishing the demanding opening round and scoring points was already an important achievement. The result provides valuable momentum for the team as they prepare for the next race of the season.

Eyes Now Turn to Home Soil Drama in Brazil

Following the season opener, attention now shifts to the highly anticipated Brazil Grand Prix, a historic addition to the MotoGP calendar.

The race will take place at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia Ayrton Senna, marking a major moment for Brazilian motorsport fans.

For Diogo Moreira, the event carries special significance as he prepares to compete in front of his home crowd. Opportunities for Brazilian riders in the MotoGP premier class are rare, making the upcoming race particularly meaningful for both the rider and his supporters.

The points earned in Thailand provide a strong foundation of confidence for the young racer as he continues his journey in one of the world’s most competitive championships.

Both the Honda LCR Team and GOD55 Sports share a clear vision for the future of their collaboration.

Richard Green, CEO of GOD55 Sports, emphasised that the partnership aims to bring fans closer to the team and the excitement of MotoGP. Meanwhile, Lucio Cecchinello, Team Principal of the Honda LCR Team, highlighted the importance of engaging motorsport enthusiasts across Southeast Asia.

NZ-AU: Hall Chadwick Acquisition Corp. Announces Letter of Intent with REEcycle Holdings for De-SPAC Business Combination

Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-NZ-AU)

NEW YORK, April 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Hall Chadwick Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: HCACU) (“HCAC”) and REEcycle Holdings, Inc. (“REEcycle”) today announced the execution of a non-binding Letter of Intent (“LOI”) for a proposed de-SPAC business combination.

The proposed transaction values REEcycle at approximately US$600 million, assuming no redemptions by HCAC public shareholders, with REEcycle existing shareholders expected to roll 100% of their equity into the combined publicly listed entity. The transaction is expected to include a minimum US$50 million PIPE financing at US$10.00 per share, providing committed capital at closing and supporting the execution of REEcycle’s near-term growth strategy.

The transaction comes at a pivotal time for U.S. critical minerals policy. China currently controls an estimated 90% of rare earth separation and processing and ~93% of permanent magnet manufacturing globally.1 In response, the U.S. Government, through Department of Defense and Department of Energy initiatives, has committed billions of dollars to strengthening domestic critical mineral supply chains, including rare earth processing.2 REEcycle has been awarded and is drawing upon US$5.1 million of Defense Production Act funding, supporting the advancement of its domestic rare earth processing capabilities.

REEcycle is advancing a technology-led solution to rare earth supply constraints. Its proprietary recycling process extracts and separates rare earth elements from end-of-life electronics and industrial products, offering a faster, lower-capex and scalable alternative to traditional mining. This approach enables near-term domestic supply while reducing exposure to geopolitical disruption.

The global rare earth market was valued at approximately US$19 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach ~US$36.7 billion by 2034, with recycling expected to grow at an accelerated rate as demand for domestically sourced materials increases.3

REEcycle’s Executive Chairman and largest shareholder is Mick McMullen, a highly respected mining executive with over 30 years of leadership experience across global mining and capital markets. He is best known for his tenure as President and CEO of Detour Gold Corporation, where he grew the company’s market capitalisation from C$2.1 billion to C$4.9 billion in nine months, culminating in its acquisition by Kirkland Lake Gold.4 His investment in REEcycle reflects strong conviction in recycling-led onshoring.

“We are addressing a critical U.S. supply gap with a faster and more capital-efficient solution than traditional mining, scalable across the U.S. and globally. This is both a technology opportunity and a national security priority.”

— Mick McMullen, Executive Chairman, REEcycle Holdings

Hall Chadwick Acquisition Corp. raised US$207 million in its Nasdaq IPO in November 2025 and is focused on transactions in critical minerals and industrial technology sectors.

“REEcycle represents a rare combination of proprietary technology, experienced leadership, and direct alignment with U.S. critical minerals strategy. We see this as a platform capable of becoming a meaningful domestic supplier, and we are excited to bring that opportunity to public investors.”

— Alex Bono, CEO, Hall Chadwick Acquisition Corp.

Exclusivity

The parties have agreed to a 60-day exclusivity period to undertake due diligence and negotiate a definitive Business Combination Agreement.

Non-Binding Letter of Intent

The LOI is non-binding and subject to the execution of definitive agreements, completion of due diligence, required approvals, and customary closing conditions. There can be no assurance that a transaction will be completed.

Important Information

This press release contains forward-looking statements regarding the proposed business combination, including expected structure, financing, timing and benefits. These statements involve risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially, including the ability to execute definitive agreements, obtain approvals, satisfy closing conditions and maintain listing status. This press release does not constitute an offer or solicitation of securities. In connection with the proposed transaction, HCAC intends to file a registration statement on Form S-4 with the SEC. ExpertRA Hits Key Milestone, Amassing a 500-User Community by Simplifying BizSAFE Compliance for SMEs

Source: Media Outreach

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 1 April 2026 – Homegrown compliance technology platform ExpertRA has reached a significant milestone, building a community of over 500 users within just two years by addressing one of the most persistent challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs): navigating bizSAFE compliance efficiently.

Chris Chen, CEO of ExpertRA

Designed to simplify workplace safety compliance, ExpertRA is an intelligent software platform that enables companies to generate bizSAFE documentation and conduct risk assessments systematically. By leveraging a comprehensive industry-specific database, the platform helps businesses identify potential workplace hazards and produce compliant documentation that aligns with workplace safety and health (WSH) standards.

For many SMEs in Singapore, obtaining bizSAFE certification is a necessary step to enhance workplace safety, improve operational credibility, and qualify for government or corporate tenders. However, the process can often be daunting, requiring extensive documentation, technical knowledge and, in many cases, reliance on external consultants. This creates barriers for smaller businesses with limited resources.

ExpertRA was developed to bridge this gap. Through an intuitive interface, users can identify workplace risks and generate tailored documentation based on their specific industry and operational needs. By digitising and standardising the workflow, the platform significantly reduces the time required to complete compliance processes while also lowering costs.

“Our growth to over 500 users reflects a clear need among SMEs for simpler and more accessible compliance solutions,” said Chris Chen, CEO of ExpertRA. “Many businesses understand the importance of workplace safety, but struggle with the complexity of meeting requirements. We built ExpertRA to remove that friction and empower companies to take control of their compliance journey.”

A key differentiator of ExpertRA lies in its comprehensive and continuously updated database, which spans multiple industries and incorporates a wide range of work activities, hazards and risk control measures. This ensures that companies receive relevant and accurate guidance without requiring prior expertise in safety compliance. Additionally, all documentation is securely stored within the cloud-based platform, allowing companies to easily retrieve, update and reuse materials for future audits or certification renewals.

The platform’s user-centric approach has resonated strongly with SMEs across sectors such as construction, logistics, retail and services, contributing to its steady adoption and community growth. Beyond functionality, ExpertRA’s emphasis on accessibility and affordability has made it particularly appealing to first-time business owners and growing enterprises seeking practical solutions without the high costs typically associated with consultancy services.

Industry observers note that demand for digital compliance tools is expected to increase as Singapore continues to prioritise workplace safety and strengthen regulatory frameworks. Solutions that reduce administrative burden while maintaining high standards are likely to play a critical role in supporting SMEs in this landscape.

Building on its early success, ExpertRA aims to further enhance its platform capabilities and expand its reach within the SME community, supporting more businesses in achieving safer workplaces through smarter compliance.

Its Sham Shui Po branch, opened in 2010, has since remained a consistent presence in the Michelin Guide, underscoring the brand’s enduring culinary standards.

Scaling a Heritage Brand Through Operational Discipline

Under the Jollibee Group, Tim Ho Wan has strengthened its operating model to support consistent execution and long-term growth across markets.

Ongoing investments in kitchen systems, chef training, menu development, and store operations have enhanced consistency across locations while preserving the craftsmanship rooted in its Hong Kong origins. The continued recognition in Hong Kong reinforces the market’s role as the brand’s culinary and operational benchmark.

“These capabilities allow us to stay true to what makes Tim Ho Wan special, while ensuring we can deliver that same experience consistently as we grow,” said Sheng Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Tim Ho Wan.

“This recognition reflects the discipline of our teams in delivering consistent quality day in and day out. Supported by strengthened systems and operating discipline, the brand offers a compelling platform for growth across international markets—anchored on consistency in its home market and enabled by replicable operating standards.

A Global Brand Rooted in Hong Kong

From a 20-seat dim sum shop in Hong Kong to a globally recognized brand, Tim Ho Wan continues to demonstrate how culinary heritage and operational discipline can come together to create a strong and scalable business.

The latest Bib Gourmand recognition reinforces Tim Ho Wan’s position as a globally relevant dim sum brand—rooted in Hong Kong and supported by the Jollibee Group’s platform for sustained and disciplined growth.

Disciplined Growth Backed by the Jollibee Group

The continued recognition also reflects the Jollibee Group’s approach to scaling heritage brands through operational excellence and long-term stewardship.

“Tim Ho Wan’s sustained recognition reflects the strength of its heritage and the discipline behind its execution,” said Richard Shin, CEO of JFC International and Global Chief Financial and Risk Officer of the Jollibee Group. “At the Jollibee Group, we focus on strengthening the systems and platforms that allow brands like Tim Ho Wan to grow while preserving the authenticity and craftsmanship that made them successful.”

System-wide sales (SWS) expanded significantly from Php1.3 billion in 2024 to Php8.1 billion in 2025, highlighting the brand’s accelerating scale and growing contribution to the Group’s global operations.

In its home market, Tim Ho Wan has strengthened its core Hong Kong footprint, doubling its store network to 10 locations within approximately one year. Recent store openings have delivered attractive payback periods (circa 1.5 years) and profitability, reinforcing confidence in the brand’s unit economics and disciplined growth approach.

Growth has been broad-based across both company-operated and franchise markets. Sales performance strengthened across markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and China, while franchise markets, including the Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan, continue to build momentum, further validating the brand’s strong international resonance and scalability.

The brand also reached an important milestone in its global expansion with the opening of its first company-operated North America store in Irvine, California, marking a significant step in establishing a direct presence in one of the world’s largest consumer markets. This re-entry into North America reflects the transportability of the brand’s operating model and positions Tim How Wan for a new phase of long-term growth and further global brand development.

HKSTP Presents ‘Global Connect – Global Innovation Exchange’

Source: Media Outreach

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 1 April 2026 – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) celebrated the launch of ‘Global Connect – Global Innovation Exchange (GIE),’ a platform that creates a pull for innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystems from the World to Hong Kong, to pour collective efforts into maximising exposure and impact of emerging startups and solutions.

Representatives of consulates and chambers of commerce from 17 countries were in attendance in supporting the cause of the ‘Global Innovation Exchange’ network.

The GIE was designed to bridge for China-HK-International with I&T developments, where year-long international engagement activities are in the works, including a curated series of country-and market-focused networking events, with UK, France, and Germany lined up from April to June, as well as success story sharing sessions, opportunity overviews, and potential partnership projects examinations, building as a two-way gateway enabling overseas innovators leverage the city as a springboard into the vast opportunities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) opportunities, while supporting companies moving from the Chinese Mainland to Hong Kong and onward to international markets.

Representatives of 17 countries were in presence, apart from local bodies, in supporting the cause that tech ventures are to be introduced to markets overseas, and vice versa. Maurits ter Kuile, Consul General of the Netherlands in Hong Kong and Macao, stated: “Hong Kong is an interesting spot for Dutch companies that are looking to explore the Chinese market. Language, regulations, taxes and an international orientation, are part of the attraction. As a Dutch government body that is looking to support them, we would say that the GIE looks like an appealing concept to give them a leg up.”

Panel discussions on Hong Kong’s unique position on the world stage as a multicultural anchor for the flow of capital in and out of Asia, echoed the notion. Johannes Hack, Chairman of European Chamber of Commerce, said “One of the challenges when setting up a partnership is understanding the other side’s value drivers. Only when you truly match what each side expects can the joint business flourish. Hong Kong is an excellent place to establish common ground and HKSTP is a great partner to support finding a shared vision.”

Terry Wong, CEO of HKSTP, said “We introduced ‘Global Connect – Global Innovation Exchange’ with heart full of confidence that it will bring convergence of all efforts under one platform, so that international networks, delegations, and I&T communities are able to connect better with more seamless access to even broader resources.”

The Network represented not an event, but an enunciation of commitment to contribute in driving an influx of cross-border business matching and investment opportunities, further strengthening the city’s appeal as an international I&T hub, and continuing the momentum of technological advancement in the GBA and beyond.

Prudential launches more affordable Integrated Shield Plan riders with additional benefits

Source: Media Outreach

Premiums for the new supplementary plans, PRUExtra Care series, are at least 30 per cent lower compared to the previous suite of riders; new critical illness and retrenchment benefits added

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 1 April 2026 – Prudential Singapore (“Prudential”) has launched a refreshed suite of Integrated Shield Plan (“IP”) supplementary plans (“riders”) that provide comprehensive medical protection at lower premiums. The three new riders are at least 30 per cent more affordable than the previous suite across all age groups and plan types, with some having even larger differences.

In particular, PRUExtra Preferred Care, the new rider for Prudential’s preferred list of private healthcare institutions, is at least 45 per cent more affordable across all age groups compared to its previous corresponding rider, with some groups seeing a 55 per cent difference.

The three new riders – PRUExtra Premier Care, PRUExtra Preferred Care, and PRUExtra Plus Care (known as the “PRUExtra Care series”) – replace Prudential’s previous suite of riders, and align with the new rider requirements announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in November 2025.

PRUExtra Premier Care is a rider for private healthcare institutions, PRUExtra Preferred Care is a rider for Prudential’s preferred list of private healthcare institutions under the PRUPanel Connect programme, and PRUExtra Plus Care is a rider for restructured hospitals (up to Class A wards).

The PRUExtra Care riders offer new benefits including additional policy year limits of up to $100,000 if hospitalisation is due to critical illness, and a 12-month premium waiver during retrenchment.

Dr Sidharth Kachroo, Chief Health Officer, Prudential Singapore, said: “By balancing more affordable premiums with meaningful enhancements, the PRUExtra Care riders lower the barrier to comprehensive medical protection for individuals. It also supports the long-term sustainability of private healthcare protection for customers in Singapore.”

IP main plans offer broader coverage by giving individuals more choice, including higher ward classes, access to private healthcare, and the flexibility to choose their doctor. Prudential’s riders complement its IP main plans by providing additional coverage for out-of-pocket expenses and treatments that MediShield Life and IP main plans may exclude, including coverage for non-cancer drug list treatments and non-listed cell, tissue and gene therapy products (CTGTP).

Dr Kachroo added: “Everyone wants peace of mind that they are protected against large hospital bills, and this fortunately is covered for citizens and permanent residents by MediShield Life in Singapore. Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) add value by providing individuals with a wider choice in the type of care they receive. When coupled with a rider, it expands that set of options and the breadth of coverage for the consumer, especially those who want private care. For foreigners who don’t have MediShield Life, IPs provide access to more healthcare options while they reside in Singapore.”

Enhanced critical illness limits and new retrenchment benefit

A critical illness (CI) diagnosis often requires intensive medical treatments and prolonged recovery periods. In view of rising incidences of CIs such as cancer[1], heart attack[2], and stroke[3] in Singapore, Prudential has introduced an early-to-late CI benefit in its PRUExtra Care series. Should a customer be hospitalised or require surgery due to a covered early, intermediate, or late-stage CI, their policy year limit will be increased by up to $100,000.[4]

Dr Kachroo said: “Our PRUExtra Care customers get up to $100,000 added to their policy year limits should they be hospitalised due to critical illness. Managing a critical illness usually involves complex treatments and repeated procedures, which can quickly put pressure on customers’ annual limits. By increasing policy year limits for early to late-stage critical illnesses, they can be assured that their coverage can keep pace with their treatment needs, allowing them to focus fully on recovery and healing.

“We also recognise that health security is tied to financial stability. An unexpected job loss can make it challenging for customers to maintain regular insurance premium payments, and result in a lapse in health protection when it’s needed most. To prevent this, we have introduced a retrenchment waiver benefit to ease their financial burden and give them some time to get back on their feet.”

Under the new retrenchment waiver benefit for PRUExtra Premier Care and PRUExtra Preferred Care customers, those who remain unemployed for a continuous period of six months can apply for a waiver on their rider premiums for the next 12 months. The waiver continues to apply even if the customer secures new employment during the waiver period.

More affordability with use of panel providers and no-claim discount

Customers with PRUExtra Premier Care who are treated by panel[5] and extended panel specialists at panel healthcare institutions can keep their premium level the same at the next policy renewal under the claims-based premium pricing framework.[6]

In addition, PRUExtra Premier Care customers enjoy a 20 per cent discount (“PRUWell Reward”) on their standard level premium (the lowest premium tier within their age band) when their policy is issued with no special terms and conditions, as well as at their next policy renewal if no claims are made.

Importance of reviewing protection needs with a financial representative

As individuals move through different life stages, their healthcare needs and financial circumstances can change. Customers are encouraged to review their protection with a financial representative to assess their overall needs and determine the appropriate level of coverage before making any decision to downgrade or drop their riders.

Dr Kachroo said: “We understand that customers need to strike a balance between premium affordability and protecting themselves from potentially high medical costs in the future. While they may enjoy immediate cost savings when they switch to a plan that offers lower premiums, they also need to consider what they might need to pay in cash from their own savings when they require hospitalisation given that the deductible is no longer covered and the co-payment cap has increased. This is a personal choice, and our role as an insurer is to ensure that our customers fully understand the coverage and benefits that they enjoy with their plans, as well as the implications of downgrading or dropping coverage, so that they can make an informed decision.”

[4] Extra Cover for Early to Late Critical Illness benefit:
PRUExtra Premier Care: $100,000 additional limit per policy year
PRUExtra Preferred Care: $100,000 additional limit per policy year
PRUExtra Plus Care: $50,000 additional limit per policy year
[5] To qualify for a panel claim, treatment must be received at a private panel healthcare institution where the attending doctor is listed as a participating specialist, as indicated in the PRUPanel Connect listing on this page: https://www.prudential.com.sg/ppc-specialists

OceanX Announces A Shared Voyage: Joint U.S.-China Student Ocean Exploration and Education Program

Source: Media Outreach

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 1 April 2026 – OceanX today announced A Shared Voyage: OceanX China 2026, a joint U.S-Chinese goodwill mission that will bring together 10 American and 10 Chinese early-career ocean scientists, students, and instructors in pursuit of their shared goal to better understand the ocean and each other. OceanX is the ocean exploration, science, and education initiative founded by Ray and Mark Dalio. This initiative will be the first voyage of OceanX’s flagship research and media vessel, OceanXplorer, to China, starting in Hong Kong on March 29 and concluding in Shanghai on April 8, 2026.

The mission is an extension of the 42-year relationship Ray Dalio has had with China and its people, and it is delivered in collaboration with the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the Second Institute of Oceanography (SIO), and the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation (CUSEF). The mission’s goals are to promote high quality people-to-people exchanges between nations, advance ocean literacy and scientific understanding, and equip participants with the skills to communicate the importance of our shared ocean to broader audiences.

Expanding Access to Ocean Science and Education

The China 2026 program represents a milestone in OceanX’s global engagement efforts, creating new opportunities for students and researchers to access hands-on learning at sea. Participants from the United States and China will take part in a structured program designed to build practical knowledge, develop interpersonal connections, and strengthen individual capabilities in ocean science, operations, and communication.

“At this time of great conflict in the world, I believe more than ever in the power of people-to-people exchanges to create mutual understanding” said Ray Dalio, Founder of OceanX. “Understanding the ocean is a shared interest for both the U.S. and China—and for the scientists and students who are on this joint mission. It is a thrill to see them working together.”

Hands-On Learning Across Science, Operations, and Media

The program delivers a structured curriculum that combines lectures, workshops, and applied learning experiences across three focus areas:

  • Marine Exploration: Ocean data collection methods, ecosystem observation, and introductions to oceanographic research tools
  • Operations: Life aboard a research vessel, including equipment demonstrations such as ROV operations, water sampling, and microscopy
  • Media & Communication: Science communication and media production training to support clearer public understanding of ocean issues

Participants will develop individual and small-group projects as part of the program, focused on applying knowledge gained throughout the voyage. They will also forge new connections and build mutual understanding with their peers.

“Understanding the ocean requires both scientific insight and the ability to communicate it clearly,” said Vincent Pieribone, Co-CEO and Chief Science Officer of OceanX. “This program is designed to give participants exposure to the tools, technologies, and storytelling approaches that are shaping how ocean science is conducted and shared.”

Inspiring the Next Generation of Ocean Leaders

By combining advanced marine technology, scientific research, and immersive storytelling, OceanX is working to broaden access to ocean discovery and inspire future generations to engage with ocean science.

“A Shared Voyage: OceanX China 2026 represents an important opportunity to support ocean education and public awareness,” said Ms. Lyu Tin, director of the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA).

“This initiative highlights the importance of continued investment in ocean science education and capacity building,” said Prof. Huang Wei, Chinese Chief Scientist for the mission and research at Second Institute of Oceanography (SIO).

A Shared Voyage: OceanX China 2026 supports OceanX’s mission to unlock the ocean’s sustainable potential through science and education, while advancing ocean literacy and long-term stewardship.

Marriott’s 2025 Cage-Free Pledge in the Spotlight as Field Visit Raises Animal Welfare and Hygiene Concerns

Source: Media Outreach

Field visit finds dead birds, eggs surrounded by faeces and fly infestations at egg farm whose operators claim to supply Marriott properties

JAKARTA, INDONESIA – Media OutReach Newswire – 1 April 2026 – Marriott International (Marriott) has yet to publicly confirm whether it has met its commitment to source 100% cage-free eggs across all global operations by the end of 2025. A field visit conducted in November 2025 to an egg farm whose operators stated they supply Marriott properties has documented conditions that raise serious animal welfare and hygiene concerns.

In 2018, Marriott committed to sourcing “100% of eggs from cage-free sources throughout the company’s global operations for all owned, managed and franchised properties by the end of 2025.”
As the deadline approached, the company issued no updates on its cage-free transition despite repeated requests. With no response forthcoming, the Indonesia Network for Compassionate Animal Farming (INCAF) and partner organisations began conducting field visits to egg farms across Asia.

Clockwise from top left: egg trays stored at floor level surrounded by excrement; accumulated waste and debris beneath the cages; the interior of the battery cage facility showing waste buildup and cobwebs across cage structures. Photos: Resha Juhari / INCAF / We Animals.

At a farm whose operators claim to supply to Marriot properties, the following conditions were documented:

  • Eggs stored directly on the floor, surrounded by dirt, feathers and excrement
  • Swarms of flies around birds and their food
  • Accumulated faeces on and underneath cages
  • Dead birds discarded around the facility
  • Birds with severe eye injuries or blindness
  • Birds crammed into dirty wire cages
  • Poor access to water
“Marriott claims to ‘Serve Our World’ as a core value. What we documented at this farm raises serious questions about how that value is being upheld in practice,” said Frank Kembuan, Director of INCAF.

The visit is part of a broader Asia-wide movement, with organisations across multiple countries working together to promote transparency and accountability in fulfilling cage-free egg commitments, including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Marriott has not confirmed whether this farm is part of its current supply chain. The findings in this release are based on statements made by farm operators and field observations conducted by the campaign team. Marriott was approached to verify, respond, and engage constructively prior to publication.

The Rise of Hybrid Work in the Philippines Brings Home Cooking Back to the Table

Source: Media Outreach

PROVACUNO, the Agro-food Interprofessional Organization of the Spanish beef industry, under the framework of the European Union’s promotion program It’s Time for EU Beef, invites Filipino households to make the most of this new lifestyle with premium European beef

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Media OutReach Newswire – 31 March 2026 – Hybrid work has become a permanent part of daily life in the Philippines, with recent surveys showing that a large majority of companies now operate under flexible or hybrid work models and that Filipino employees strongly prefer this setup over full-time office work. As commuting time is reduced, more people are spending additional hours at home, leading to a clear shift in daily routines — including how meals are prepared and shared. This new lifestyle is encouraging Filipino households to cook more often at home, plan meals in advance, and invest time in recipes that can be enjoyed together during the day, turning lunch breaks and evenings into shared moments around the table.

“It’s Time for Home Cooking in Philippines”

This shift toward home-based routines is encouraging families to choose ingredients that add quality and enjoyment to everyday cooking. European beef fits perfectly into this new rhythm, offering versatility for quick lunches, slow-cooked dinners, or special meals prepared between busy days.

In both European and Filipino cultures, food has always been about more than just eating — it is a moment to slow down, to pause the day, and to reconnect with the people around the table. In Europe, meals are a time to share stories, enjoy conversation, and appreciate food prepared with care. In the Philippines, food plays the same role: it brings families together, strengthens bonds, and turns simple moments into shared memories.

European beef from Spain reflects these shared traditions. Its quality and versatility invite home cooks to take a little more time, to enjoy the cooking process, and to create meals that encourage everyone to gather, even on busy workdays. Whether it’s a quiet lunch at home or a relaxed dinner after a long day, European beef helps transform ordinary routines into meaningful moments of connection.

Each dish you prepare becomes an opportunity to discover the quality, the care, and the value behind European beef, appreciated not only in its taste but also in how it is prepared, served, and enjoyed together.

European beef is available in supermarkets and restaurants across the Philippines, making it easy for families to enjoy premium quality as part of their new home-centered lifestyle. Filipino home cooks are invited to share their favorite European beef recipes, family dishes, and creative ideas on social media using #ItsTimeForEUBeef, and become part of a growing community that celebrates cooking, sharing, and connecting through food.

Because home is where great meals begin…, it´s time for European Beef
